The Volvo XC60 has been patiently waiting its turn for a full redesign. Starting in the 2015 model year, Volvo introduced a new platform, Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), and slowly began filling its lineup with redesigned models based on SPA.

First, Volvo focused on rounding out its top-tier 90 Series with luxury SUV, sedan, and wagon models. With the 90 Series finished moving onto the new platform, Volvo can turn its attention to the 60 Series.
