It's that time of year, ladies and gentlemen. The time when MotorTrend, one of the most respected publications in the business doles out its Car, SUV, and Truck of the Year titles. This year, we're proud to say that Gothenburg's latest offering, the 2016 Volvo XC90 is the recipient of the SUV of the Year title.
The field for this year's title was broader than ever--so much so it eclipsed the sedan segment with its numbers. In all, there were sixteen contenders made up of all-new or heavily redesigned models. In the end, it was the XC90 that won out with its captivating design and stellar performance.
In a lengthy write up on the MotorTrend website, reviewers went over the ins and outs of the car. The first item of note was the XC90's key fob, which evoked a sense of simple elegance. He then went on to detail the judge's thoughts on the new four-cylinder engine, with its turbocharged, supercharged goodness.
