The new Volvo lineup is more exciting than ever before with models like the new S60 and XC90 proving drivers in the greater New Orleans, LA area with a plethora of driving options.
However, here at Bergeron Volvo, we can't help but envy our neighbors across the pond who have access to the innovative and popular Volvo V40. Apparently, we aren't the only ones feeling this way as the executives over at the brand's North American headquarters are trying to convince their counterparts in Europe that the automaker would benefit immensely from another hatchback option in the lineup.
Some of you Volvo fans may already be aware that after the Volvo V60 has a good run overseas, the Swedish automaker decided to permit it to travel to America, where we are anxiously anticipating its impending arrival. At the same time, we are also hoping that the V40 will follow the V60's footprints.
The V40 compact hatchback currently offers a plethora of ground-breaking features, including exclusive safety amenities, in addition to being available with three gasoline and three diesel powered options. The current model is now built on a platform that is shared with Ford, but for its next generation, Volvo has teamed with Geely to utilize aspects of the Scalable Platform Architecture.
While the production of a future generation is still a while off, the real issue is whether the V40 could be brought over to the U.S. now, or after the next-generation model has been produced. Be sure to check back in with our blog for future updates on the V40 and other Volvo news.
