If you're an avid follower of Bergeron Volvo's blog, you've probably read our updates on Volvo's month-to-month sales figures in the U.S. Today, we've decided to shake things up a bit and report on the Swedish automaker's sales in other markets.

It appears the drivers in the New Orleans, LA area aren't the only Volvo enthusiasts out there, as the brand reports the sales of 40,952 new Volvo models around the world last month. This figure reflects a 13.5 percent increase in sales over September of 2012, with a large portion of these sales occurring in Europe and China.

In Europe, the new Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid has experienced a growing level of popularity due to the fact that it's not only an efficient way to travel around, but it also features the safety and comfort that Volvo models are renowned for. Other popular choices in Europe included the Volvo V40, V60 and XC60.

The Volvo brand is trending upwards in the Chinese market too, where the XC60 is also proving a popular choice for drivers with sales reaching 2,482 units. A total of 5,719 models were sold in China in September for an impressive increase of 48.6 percent over the previous year.

Alain Visser, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Customer Service at Volvo Cars says of these sales increase in international markets, "We are very satisfied with the positive reception of our new products that are now reaching dealerships globally. We are confident that we are on the right track with our global transformation strategy."1

Here in our Metairie, LA showroom, we have a wide selection of Volvo vehicles to choose from. We'd be happy to assist you in finding the ideal model for you by highlighting features, setting you up with a test drive and discussing loan & lease opportunities.
