While current new Volvo models are always a hit with drivers from the greater Metairie area, we here at Bergeron Volvo are always looking forward to what our favorite Scandinavian automaker has coming next.
It was recently announced that a new version of the Volvo XC90 would be racing our showroom by the end of 2014. Rebuilt from the ground up, the company plans to use its platform in redesigning other models as well, including the S60, XC60 and S80.
That, however, can only happen after the next generation of the full-size SUV is finalized. In other words, it will be at least 2015 before we see new versions of the three aforementioned models. Between now and then, Volvo knows car buyers could get a bit restless. That's why it's currently working on light facelifts for the S60 and XC60.
Upon hearing this, we're guessing you'd like to know what's in store. While Volvo hasn't made an official reveal quite yet, several spy photos have been snapped of the two forthcoming models being tested. And while they're not drastically different at a glance, there are some subtle changes that should appease buyers between now and the real redesign.
So what's changing then?
The front ends of both models appear to be slightly more pointed, which falls in line with the styling of the overseas Volvo V40 hatchback. The XC60, meanwhile, will also gain a revised hatchback. And finally, the S60 looks to be gaining minor interior tweaks as well, including reshaped seats and a redesigned shift lever.
Of course, if these changes aren't major enough to make it worth the wait, Bergeron Volvo recommends checking out what Volvo currently has to offer today. Aside from setting you up for a test drive here at 3525 Veterans Boulevard in Metairie, we're also happy to discuss car loan and lease options.
