We all know how dedicated that Volvo is in providing its customers with innovate and safe automobiles, but they threw us for a loop recently. We obviously forget to pay attention of the date; they really had a laugh at our expense on April Fool's Day.

This PR based prank began with the foreign automaker claiming that it was adding External Vehicle Protection, or EnVeloP to all of its models like the XC-90, S60 and more. This sounds somewhat truthful since this technology was first introduced by Volvo. But then, we continued to read on.

Volvo claimed that EnVeloP was to be built on the roof of the vehicle, and when it sensed when a collision was unavoidable it would begin to deploy and wrap the vehicle in a balloon based matrial to prevent injury.

For a few seconds there they really had us, then we figure out it was probably too good to be true. Touché Volvo.

While we think this is pretty funny, we want to take a moment to point out that all the new Volvo vehicles have incredibly strong exteriors and have been lauded by industry experts for their safety features.

If you want to learn about the safety features within the new Volvo lineup, take a moment to stop by Bergeron Volvo located at 3525 Veterans Boulevard in Metairie, LA. We're more than happy to answer your questions and give you a test drive in the vehicles that your interested in.
