We've all been there. That moment when you're sitting in a slow-moving traffic jam and you start to feel a bit sleepy, maybe lose focus at the wheel. Well, Bergeron Volvo is pleased to share that Volvo has come up with a technology to ensure your safety at exactly these kinds of times.

Created as a sort of collaboration between Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Aid technology, the new traffic jam assistance system does the driving for you. At speeds of 30 miles per hour or less that is...

By calling on a mix of camera and radar sensors, the feature will take over control of the wheel and keep you a safe distance from the car in front during slow moving traffic jams. What's more, the new Volvo program is able to navigate both straight and curved stretches of road as well as move around unexpected obstacles in the road.

For those worried about the highly intelligent system taking too much control, Volvo points out that, similar to cruise control, the feature can be over-ridden by the driver at any point in time.

While we can't say exactly which new Volvo vehicle will receive the traffic jam assistance system first, company officials note that it will come to market for the 2014 model year. Until that point in time, we invite you to stop by 3525 Veterans Boulevard, Metairie and experience the innovative technology found in our current Volvo vehicle offerings.
